Future Plans

My Future Plans

I intend to move back to the United States next August after four years in Hong Kong. At that time I will have over five years of experience in instructional design, so I will be looking for intermediate-level positions which have more responsibility and some managerial duties. I enjoy working in higher education, so I will mostly be looking at colleges and universities in Michigan. My past experience has been developing for Human Resources and now the Educational Development Centre, both of which have employees as the target learners. It would be an interesting experience to work in a department where the target learners are the university students. I'm always looking for a variety of experiences to use my current knowledge and further build upon my skills.

As mentioned in the previous core areas, some improvement I intent to make are getting formal training on the tools I rely on like the Adobe Creative Cloud, focusing on mastery of certain skills instead of spreading myself so thin sometimes, finding an outlet for dissemination of my own knowledge, attending more conferences, and working on being more direct and outspoken with colleagues. I think working on these things would really help to round out my skill set, making me more knowledgeable and productive for my employer.
