Instructional Design

Below you will find various training modules I developed. The topics range from organizational policies to software simulations.

The modules were created using Adobe Captivate, Trivantis Lectoria, and Articulate Storyline.

CMALT Portfolio

This is my portfolio for accreditation in the Certified Membership scheme through the Association for Learning Technology (ALT), known as CMALT. The contents are structured according to specific guidelines and focus on personal reflection in my past projects as well as goals for the future.

Interactive eBook

While a work in progress, this ebook is a personal project bringing together my hobbies of writing/illustrating and my professional skills. I plan to add voice over tracks, hover images, and a touch-friendly interface using Adobe Captivate.

Audio/Visual

This course was a personal project for me. I wanted to learn more functions of Articulate Storyline which I hadn't used much in the past. Also, I wanted to prepare for my move to Hong Kong by developing some practical language skills.

EdX MOOC/SPOC

I was an instructional designer on two EdX courses. Many videos were created in Premiere Pro and Camtasia. The information was chunked into sections and units. Because of EdX's developmental limitations, custom HTML, CSS, and javascript was implemented to round out the course. Full screen viewing is recommended.

Educational Video Reel

Given the small project teams I have work with, we often have to take on additional roles. While I am not a video expert, I enjoy learning new skills and techniques to better assist my teams. Here are some clips from videos I have made for SPOCs and Blackboard courses.

Simulation

I have developed several trainings which utilize an interactive simulation style since many learners can more easily recall processes by actually performing them. A guide is always included along with the training for long-term reference.

Scenario

This training provides new cadets with information on institutional policies, then tests and reinforces the information using a series of scenario-based questions with common situations they might encounter on the job.
